Gomoku: Five Stones in a Row is a strategic board game for two participants. On a square grid measuring 19×19 (in the classic version) or 15×15 (in the contemporary sports variant) points, players take turns placing pieces of two colors. The victor is the individual who first creates an unbroken line of five pieces of their color, either vertically, horizontally, or diagonally. There are numerous variations, differing in specific rule details. This game is thought to have originated in China over two millennia ago. Presently, it is recognized worldwide, with competitive events organized around it.
